Dedicated to a keeper of time!
This is my entry to the 19 seconds contest by
I loved the idea of this contest from the time I saw it. It had to do with time, a specific amount of time, which had to be put on a picture.
We all sense time, but how can one actually take "a shot of time"?
I rejected the idea of long exposured running waters, or moving things such as cars, lights etc., and concentrated on time itself and the means of measuring it, the Clock!
So, after adjusting exposure time at 15 secs and experimenting with different aperture settings, I came up with what you see:
Fifteen grey spokes, each depicting a passed second.
Fifteen seconds from our past, pictured in a shot taken in the 17th of October 2008, at the local time (GMT+2) the clock shows
p.s. the careful viewer will notice that the seconds' hand has left its traces 16 times
I used a fan to support the clock

Brilliant idea The fan made a nice contrast to the clock.
