Yes he was, back in 1953.

Amazing work Stam! It is nice to compare them both, and see the similarities and differences. Shame to see these graffiti ruinig the place though, and you really did a great job with the people on the foreground :D

Έφαγα ένα 5λεπτο μέχρι να βρω τη αντίστοιχη του Bresson και να βεβαιωθώ ότι την ίδια φωτογραφία... κάπου την είχα ξαναδεί. Φυσικά, θα είχα γλυτώσει όλο αυτόν το χρόνο εάν είχα κάνει scroll λίγο πιο κάτω! ;)

Εξαιρετική η απόδοσή της στις μέρες μας! Στο μεταξύ, μου θύμισε όταν είχα πρωτοδεί τη φωτογραφία του Doisneau, με την κοπέλα με τη γραφομηχανή στις όχθες του Σηκουάνα... ήθελα να ανακαλύψω το σημείο και να αντικαταστήσω τη γραφομηχανή με ένα laptop. ;)

It's a special photo, and a very beautiful tribute, with all the similarities and differences it has with the reference. I love the contrast between the classical and the present-day Greece in it, and between the eternal stillness of the statues and the shopping binge and busyness of the real women.
