I just read the story of the location and it's impressive one. Back in the ancient Greece, in the tumultuous era of the Peloponesian War, city state were fighting to obtain the supremacy over of the civilize world. The Battle of Sphateria opposed the mighty and proud warriors from Sparta and the men of the birthplace of democracy, the Athenian led by a historical figure in Demosthene. To tell the truth, it was not really a fair fight for the brave but outnumbered Spartans, something like 400 vs 3000 Athenians. Still, they fought valiantly until defeat and it was the first time ever that a Spartans group surrender. Like ever. A seismic symbolic victory for who will later surpass all the other Greek city state. The opposite of what happen in Thermopilae, well you know, the movie 300.

The Entrance is a symbol of passing through, like passing through time to revisit history and old memories. A old gate vestige of a rich heritage and also a remembrance of military tactic where the Athenian make a blocus around the island searching to strave the Spartans. So we could say that the vision is meaningful and rather original.

The technique is worth of a skilled photographer. The angle seize adequately the monumental aspect of it and we also get the refreshing mood of Greece during summer with the blue lagonic water, saturating sun and endless sky.

For the impact I wonder how it could be greater since the vision, the originality and the technique all goes in the same direction: to present you a gift from the past of a rich culture while enjoying one of the most pleasant thing on earth which is summer by Greece.

A red story for a blue Greece.
