This is both beautiful, sad, and frightening. Frightening because it demonstrates what our society has become -- men turning violent and destroying things (the graffiti). Sad because the old woman has to pay the price, she is all alone (in the rain, carrying a bag that's too heavy for her, in old leaky shoes) -- where is her family, her children? And beautiful because it is the truth, and only by telling the truth can we hope to make things better.
It's a very inspiring photo. If I wouldn't know that the cars are somehow belonging to the 2000's technology and the graffiti is in Greek, I could bet it's a "corner of Paris" immortalized by one of those SACRED MONSTERS of the French Street Photography. It's a masterpiece and each and every detail only emphasizes the perfection more and more. But now, that I know, I can certainly say that it belongs to you that it suits entirely with the STAMATIS style. This picture deserve a DD !
