There is a certain area in Athens where it is not advised to walk alone
even in broad daylight. I "happened" to pass by that area on my motorbike, camera hanging from the neck...

Some people look for hell in religious books...
Some people look for paradise in their prayers...

Both are right here!
Beside us...in front of us!

The guy sitting on the left is holding the needle between his teeth
as he's tieing a band around his arm in order to find a vein and shoot
his heroin. A girl is sitting beside him already high.
The other 2 squatting guys are shooting at this very moment
and the hand in the right of the frame belongs to the fifth of the zombie company. The 6th guy, few meters away is watching for the cops who are soon to come.

Wow. Its difficult to imagine capturing such a scene. Really well timed. I am none to critique a work of such brilliance.
How did you manage to shoot them though? Don't they create a problem regarding people watching them or taking pictures?
Nonetheless, sensational series, this one.

that's insane. you're lucky to get that shot unscathed. i wanted to shoot at an area similar to that as well, but couldn't. right when i got to that area they were already yelling at me. this is one of the reasons i wanna get a canon g7 (much smaller and i don't get mistaken for media, specially with my external flash lol). very lucky indeed mate. but i find it's not as strong as 'One way ticket to hell' perspective wise (relatively). but this one you can see the rubbish, the grime and the grit of the environment, which reflects the people and their habit. i can almost feel and smell it from here. like bruce gilden said, 'if you can smell the streets just by looking at the frame, it's a street photograph'.
well done mate. be more careful next time out! perhaps bring some big guys with you.

I see many people already told you to be careful, so I am not going to repeat, although I am tempted.

This is simply stunning, in richness of tones, as well as in the moment you captured.

Its first title was "The living zombies"
but after a second thought and some suggestions I changed it :)
I had to HDR it to bring all the macabre details of it.
