68 (who?)
It is my great pleasure to introduce you to a series of 5 articles about Street Photography made by the wonderful myraincheck and slightly edited by moi.

Part I

(the article is from - il portale italiano della fotografia translated and adapted to dA by myraincheck)

The iN-PUBLiC | Manifesto, one of the most representative sites about street photography in the world, states that “all the photographers featured there have been invited to show their work because they have the ability to see the unusual in the everyday life and to capture the moment.”
Yes but…
What is UNUSUAL? What does it mean IN THE EVERYDAY life? And what is the MOMENT?
It would be very difficult giving an unambiguous and comprehensive definition of street photography, so let’s try to visually show street photography and those concepts.

Let’s start with a little test:
Look at these three images and ask yourself, very simply, what do they represent.

A (by Blake Andrews)

B (by Blake Andrews)

C (by Nick Turpin)

If you replied:
A:  A butt
B:  Buildings
C:  A painting

Then this article is for you!
Just kidding, but a more appropriate reply could be:
A:  an analogy
B:  an anagram
C:  a symmetry

The first photos connects human legs and dog paws.
In the second photo LOANS is the anagram of SALON.
In the third photo the gesture and pose of the woman is symmetric to the man in the painting’s one.

If you take away the dog in A photo, or change the signs in B photo, or imagine the woman in another pose, you will have uninteresting images or not (good) street photos.
And instead these photos are from valued and famous contemporary street photographers.
Now watch the following images from dA fellows trying to notice in everyone something that will capture you, trigger your curiosity, surprise you, amaze you. If you can…then you are on the same wavelength with STREET PHOTOGRAPHY!

Thank you so much for pointing me to this article...

I think this one answers some of my questions in the same lines as you say.. "What is UNUSUAL? What does it mean IN THE EVERYDAY life? " The photographs here speaks in depth than many articles i have read before. I always thought there is something missing in my shots, I seem to get it now. Will remember when i compose next time....
