It is our great pleasure to announce the WINNERS of
the first Official deviantArt "So you think you can street" Photography Spring Contest
which was held from May 1st till June 15th in deviantArt site.
After 15 days of hard negotiations, cweeks, myraincheck and StamatisGR
decided and happily announce:

A competition between a peacock displaying its beautiful feathers and a gorgeous girl posing for the cameras. In its simplicity and elegant framing the image holds the imagery of beauty and vanity. The white feathers/white dress and the similar pose of girl and peacock are nice additions to the impact of the image.

6 months premium subscription + 2400 points*
A classy street photo where an everyday happening is made unusual, humorous and surreal by the ability of the photographer, in angling and timing, in the sapient exposure and play with shadows and light.

An image that grows into you the more you watch at it. The detail of the kid at the window in the top left of the image is a detail that could easily escape at first glance, but that surprises and adds emotion to the image when spotted. The busy frame only adds impact to the atmosphere, showing how this little playground is not a safe and protected place for kids to play.

Who beheaded Mickey Mouse? The choice of angle and timing for this image is the best, creating the illusion of a headless body and bodiless head.

Another image that grows watching its details. The 'fish market' done on the sidewalk, next to the parked cars. An exchanged look between photographer and fish seller. And....a cat taking advantage of the moment to sneak in and steal some fish. The little detail of the cat adds power to the image.

Cleverly framed, the statue seems to interact with the drinking guy. Is K. Atatürk going to ask for a sip? Or is he going to scold the kid? A funny image, playing with the interaction between people and surroundings.

The subtle, almost difficult to see in the complex frame, detail of the two kissing couples, a real one and one on a shopping bag, makes the photo surprising and interesting.

Man and dog are both caught midair, the man in front has 'win' written on the t-shirt, the little dog totally recalls TinTin's one. A brilliant, well timed image.

Grown ups' shopping must feel like a trap for the little girl. An intense and priceless expression. Her hands on the glass make the little girl seem trapped inside a cage and watched by the passerby reflected in the glass.

What at first glance seems a group of bystanders reveals a little incongruous and out of ordinary detail in the squirrel-man, which though seems not to be noticed at all by 'normal' people with an humorous effect.
