This journal was inspired by a recently featured street DD and contains various comments from various deviants.
I won't show you the image. Could be any street image in its place.

"You know at first I was like, "I don't get why this has a DD." Then after reading your comment and everyone else's, it made sense."

"I don't understand how this got a DD, but alright....."
On a seperate comment from the same deviant at the same picture:
"Wait, I do understand now.... It takes a moment of observation until you realize how truly amazing this is."

"I had to observe it for a minute until I realized how absolutely amazing this actually is."

"I'll admit at first glance I didn't see anything special about it, but then it started to sink in and I think it's a marvelous shot!"

"It takes a moment of observation until you realize how truly amazing this is."

"i dont understand this picture neither. why its on daily deviations is beyond me."

"I don't understand this picture!"

"excuse me, but... i don't get it"

"I too, did not see what was going on with the picture till I read your thoughtful explanation . This is a great photo and it shows a lot about human society."

Street Photography.
Some people get it. Some not.
One thing is for sure. It takes more than a pair of eyes to appreciate it.
It takes brains. It takes time and vision.
Is it picture taking? No. Is it fine art? No. It is Street Photography.

If you don't get it, we're fine. Just spare us your comments.
Or better not. We do have fun reading them

Last comment from a deviant on this DD:
"Remember, a DD is not an award for fine art pieces, it was created as a way to expose lesser-known artists to the deviantArt audience. pieces were chosen by moderators depending how they individually thought if it should get more attention.
Every time a piece that doesn't show an obvious amount of technology and/or effort is given a DD, people say it was undeserving. the 'daily deviation' feature is not much more than a dashboard or a newsfeed, broadcasting artists you may not have heard of. the 'feature' box would contain a few words on why it was chosen, NOT why it was a great piece of art.
It is up to the audience to say if it's good or not, but when your argument is fueled by its DD, it becomes obsolete because a DD means very little in terms of 'artistic quality.' a DD simply says that both the suggester and the moderator felt this artist deserved a bit more attention. you not thinking it deserves a DD means you don't think this artist deserves an extended audience."
